The Skyrunning UK athlete commission has started to take shape with Anna Lupton and Ben Abdelnoor, both inov-8, confirming that they would love to provide help and input for the future of the sport in the UK.

In addition, Salomon athletes, Ricky Lightfoot and Andy Symonds have both confirmed an eagerness and excitement at the possibility to help forge a new era for the sport.

Andy Symonds has had a quiet 2013 due to injury, however, in 2012 he was a driving force in the Skyrunner World Series placing consistently in SKY and ULTRA events. A highlight of the year was without doubt a podium place at Transvulcania La Palma behind Dakota Jones.

Ricky Lightfoot is no stranger to Skyrunning, a previous winner of the iconic Zegama-Aizkorri, Ricky is keen to help nurture and progress Skyrunning in the UK. A stunning 2013 season has seen Ricky crowned IAU World Trail Champion and just recently he not only won but smashed the Otter course record in South Africa.

Anna Lupton has had a strong 2013 season racing regularly in the Skyrunner World Series. This culminated recently with a high placing at Limone Extreme and a 5th overall in the World SKY series.

Ben Abdelnoor is a newbie to Skyrunning, however, he will come to the sport with great credentials and potential after winning and setting a new course record on the tough and challenging Lakeland 50 course.

It is an exciting time for Skyrunning UK!

We would love to hear from all of you… please spread the word and if you think you may be able to help anyway, please let us know.
