ABOUT THE 2023 SERIES

HOW DOES THE SERIES WORK

At the end of the each SKYRUNNER® UK & IRELAND Series, a male and female champion will be crowned.

In order to qualify for the series, runners must participate and finish in a minimum of 3 races. Points will be awarded based on their finishing position.

These points will be accumulated and the male and the female with the most points will be the SKYRUNNER® UK & IRELAND Champions. For 2023 the Champions will be awarded via our online social media and internet platforms.

It is possible to run all the SKYRUNNER® UK & IRELAND races and use your best 3 performances for the ranking.

Rankings will be updated after each qualifying event.

THE SERIES RANKING

The SKYRUNNER® UK & IRELAND series is combined set of five races and to be the best-of-the-best, runners must take part in at least three races.

The new ISF ranking is designed to rate athletes’ performances in all ISF ChampionshipsSkyrunner® World Series races and Certified Course (CC) races including those on the Skyrunner® National Series

Skyrunner® World Series races, Skyrunner® National Series, Skyrunning World Championships and Skyrunning Continental Championships.

Since 2019, the Skyrunner® World Series season ends with a SkyMasters race gathering only the best athletes who qualified over the season.

The International Skyrunning Federation (ISF) offers the Skyrunner® UK & IRELAND Series qualifying paths.

The SKYRUNNER® UK & IRELAND Series exists to celebrate and push the boundaries of Skyrunning as a sporting discipline.  We want the series to really stand in the modern sporting world, showcasing its values of Technicality, Equality, Determination and Focus.

In creating a series we know that the saying is true – the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.  Each race is exciting and inspiring in itself, but together they create a new concept – a collection of races that keeps both the runners and audiences engaged throughout the season.

ABOUT THE UK RACES

Each race has been chosen to highlight the most iconic locations in the UK as well as to showcase the awe and natural beauty of each of our National Three Peaks Yr Wydffa (Snowdon), Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis (Beinn Nibheis)

All have been selected based on their scenery, challenge, historical and cultural significance and that extra ‘wow’ factor that they will offer both to the running athletes and the public.

We want these races to be on every runner’s bucket list.
